How It Works

Enter your total wedding budget, then decide how to split it across categories. Each category's allocated amount is calculated from the percentage you assign, so a 15% photography line on a $30,000 budget allocates $4,500. As you book vendors and pay deposits, record the actual spend for each line to see where you are over or under.

Suggested Percentages

The "Suggested Split" button loads industry-typical percentages you can adjust to your priorities:

  • Venue & Rentals — 30%: usually the single largest cost
  • Catering & Drinks — 22%: often priced per guest
  • Photography & Video — 12%
  • Attire & Beauty — 8%: dress, suit, hair and makeup
  • Flowers & Décor — 8%
  • Music & Entertainment — 7%
  • Cake & Desserts — 3%
  • Stationery — 2%: invitations and save-the-dates
  • Rings — 3%
  • Transport — 2%
  • Favors & Gifts — 2%
  • Contingency — 1%: keep a buffer for surprises
Tips
  • Keep a buffer: aim to leave 5–10% unallocated for last-minute costs.
  • Track deposits and totals separately: record the full contract price so nothing surprises you later.
  • Reallocate freely: if one category comes in under budget, shift the difference to a priority.
  • Watch the difference column: a red figure means you have spent more than you allocated for that line.
